What makes you eligible to enrol in the Medium Partner Program:

• You’re a Medium member. You can become a member here, if you’re not already one.
• You’ve published at least one story.
• Your profile is complete, with a photo and a bio.
• Your bank is in a country eligible for pay-outs.
• You’re 18 or older.

You’ll also need to agree to two things: the Medium Partner Program Terms and the Content Eligible for the Paywall Policy.

Read the second one closely — pay walling a story that doesn’t qualify can put your enrolment at risk. Most common issues include paywalling fully AI-generated writing and stories about Medium.

If you qualify

You’ll see if you qualify immediately, and you can start pay walling for your stories from there, both new ones and stories you’ve already published. You’ll need to connect a Stripe account before Medium can pay you, but your stories start earning the moment they’re behind the paywall.

If you don’t qualify yet

If you don’t qualify, you’ll see what’s missing. Most requirements take a few minutes to fix — you might need to add a photo and write a bio, or publish the draft you’ve been sitting on. Then when you come back with all the requirements fulfilled, you’ll be able to enrol.
